1. Surface Preparation

Proper preparation is crucial for a successful installation. Ensure your tile floor is clean, dry, and free of dirt, debris, or unevenness. Any loose tiles should be re-grouted or replaced. Inspect the grout lines for gaps or cracks and fill them with grout or a suitable adhesive.

2. Underlayment Installation

An underlayment layer provides essential cushioning and moisture protection. Choose a quality underlayment designed specifically for laminate flooring and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions carefully. Trim the underlayment to fit the room's dimensions, ensuring all edges and seams are tightly joined.

3. Moisture Barrier

In areas with high humidity or moisture concerns, a moisture barrier may be necessary. Lay a layer of polyethylene over the underlayment, extending it up the walls slightly. Overlap the edges by at least 6 inches and seal them together with tape.

4. Laminate Plank Installation

Start laying the laminate planks in a corner of the room, using spacers to maintain a consistent gap between the planks and the walls. Choose a "floating" installation method, where the planks are interlocked but not attached to the subfloor. Angle the first plank into the locking system of the previous one and gently tap it into place with a tapping block and hammer.

5. Row Continuation
