How to Install Cement Board for Floor Tile

Measure the dimensions of the area where the tile will be installed. Cut the cement board into pieces that fit the area, leaving a gap of approximately 1/8 inch between the edges of the board and the walls. This gap will accommodate expansion and contraction of the cement board.

Step 3: Apply Thin-Set Mortar
